Getting Where You Need To Go…

  • Travel around the construction zone instead of through it whenever possible. Using alternative routes will limit both traffic and frustration.
  • If you are visiting a business on the north side of 16th Street, try starting from Pacific Avenue. When traveling to businesses on the south side, starting from 1st Avenue will make things easier.
  • Interstate access at 16th Street will be available, but getting on or off I-8 will be easier from another exit such as Giss Parkway or Avenue 3E.

Useful Tips for Planning Ahead…

  • You CAN make left turns ONTO 16th Street from cross streets with traffic signals. (Eastbound and Westbound I-8 exits, Redondo Center Drive, and Arizona Avenue)
  • Some businesses CAN be accessed from the back of their properties.
  • The City of Yuma has made improvements to the alleys just north of 16th Street for easier access to businesses in the area.
  • There are NO U-turns on 16th Street at Yuma Palms Parkway or 1st Avenue, so if you need to turn around, do so by turning onto a nearby cross street and looping around the block back onto 16th Street in the desired location.
